iPhone app
Orbit
Google Contacts on the iPhone, grouped by the country and city each person lives in.
Not released. There is no build to install and no release date. This page is where a release would be announced first.
Current state
In development, in private.
Orbit is a personal iPhone app, built for one address book: mine. It has no public build, no version number, no App Store listing and no release date, and its repository is private today — so there is no source link on this page rather than a link that would open nothing. When that changes, it changes here.
-
What exists
A native SwiftUI app with Google Contacts as the source of truth, mirrored into SwiftData with a pending-mutation outbox so the list opens, searches and edits without waiting for the network.
-
What is being built
Grouping people by country, region and city with MapKit, the confirmed import of Apple Contacts into Google, and the bulk editor for labels, addresses and notes.
Who builds it
One person, for one address book.
Orbit is written by Marton Paulo and licensed MIT. The repository is private while the app is being built, so the licence is a promise about the code rather than something you can read today.
It talks to Google Contacts with the account that signs in, and to Apple's own frameworks on the device: no backend of its own, no analytics.
